WE beseech thee, O Lord, graciously to hear the prayers which
we offer unto thee on this feast of blessed Anselm, thy Confessor
and Bishop: that, like as he was found worthy to do thee faithful
service, so, by the succour of his merits, we may be delivered
from the chastisement which we have deserved. Through.
The Epistle. 2 Timothy 4:1-8
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ,

rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall
be turned unto fables.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments,
and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom
of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall
be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed
