The First
Lesson
Tobit 13:1b-5, 7-11
1 Blessed be God that liveth for ever, and blessed be his kingdom.
2 For he doth scourge, and hath mercy: he leadeth down to hell,
and bringeth up again: neither is there any that can avoid his
hand.
3 Confess him before the Gentiles, ye children of Israel: for
he hath scattered us among them.
4 There declare his greatness, and extol him before all the living:
for he is our Lord, and he is the God our Father for ever.
5 And he will scourge us for our iniquities, and will have mercy
again, and will gather us out of all nations, among whom he hath
scattered us.
7 I will extol my God, and my soul shall praise the King of heaven,
and shall rejoice in his greatness.
8 Let all men speak, and let all praise him for his righteousness.
9 O Jerusalem, the holy city, he will scourge thee for thy children's
works, and will have mercy again on the sons of the righteous.
10 Give praise to the Lord, for he is good: and praise the everlasting
King, that his tabernacle may be builded in thee again with joy,
and let him make joyful there in thee those that are captives,
and love in thee for ever those that are miserable.
11 Many nations shall come from far to the name of the Lord God
with gifts in their hands, even gifts to the King of heaven;
all generations shall praise thee with great joy.

The Second
Lesson
Romans 15:14-21
14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye
also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also
to admonish one another.
15 Nevertheless,
brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort,
as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to
me of God,
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles,
ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles
might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
17 I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ
in those things which pertain to God.
18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which
Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient,
by word and deed,
19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit
of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum,
I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ
was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:
21 But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall
see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
2nd Lesson Questions -
Am I also a recipient of God's grace? (V. 15) What have I done with it? RESOLVE.
