First Lesson
Wisdom 1:1-7
1 Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of
the Lord with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek
him.
2 For he will be found of them that tempt him not; and sheweth
himself unto such as do not distrust him.
3 For froward thoughts separate from God: and his power, when
it is tried, reproveth the unwise.
4 For into a malicious soul wisdom shall not enter; nor dwell
in the body that is subject unto sin
5 For the holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove
from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide
when unrighteousness cometh in.
6 For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer
of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder
of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue.
7 For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world: and that which
containeth all things hath knowledge of the voice.
1st Lesson Questions - Wisdom 1:1-7. If the holy spirit of discipline doesn't exist where there is unrighteousness, thoughts that are without understanding and deceit, what does that say about my life? (V. 5) Am I disciplined? If not, what needs to be changed in my life? RESOLVE
Second Lesson
1 Thessalonians 5:12-28
12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among
you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake.
And be at peace among yourselves.
14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort
the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever
follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all
men.
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in
Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray
God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless
unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
25 Brethren, pray for us.
26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all
the holy brethren.
28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
2nd Lesson Questions - 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28. This passage is filled with godly, daily endeavors for Christians. How am I doing, in reference to living out this list of "things to do daily?" RESOLVE
