First Lesson
Wisdom 7:7-14
7 Wherefore I prayed, and understanding was given me: I called
upon God, and the spirit of wisdom came to me.
8 I preferred her before sceptres and thrones, and esteemed riches
nothing in comparison of her.
9 Neither compared I unto her any precious stone, because all
gold in respect of her is as a little sand, and silver shall
be counted as clay before her.
10 I loved her above health and beauty, and chose to have her
instead of light: for the light that cometh from her never goeth
out.
11 All good things together came to me with her, and innumerable
riches in her hands.
12 And I rejoiced in them all, because wisdom goeth before them:
and I knew not that she was the mother of them.
I3 I learned diligently, and do communicate her liberally: I
do not hide her riches.
14 For she is a treasure unto men that never faileth: which they
that use become the friends of God, being commended for the gifts
that come from learning.

Second Lesson
2 Thessalonians 2:13-3:5
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren
beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen
you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief
of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which
ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father,
which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation
and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and
work.
1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may
have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men:
for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep
you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both
do and will do the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into
the patient waiting for Christ.
