First Lesson
Isaiah 19:19-25
19 In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the midst
of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the
LORD.
20 And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD
of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD
because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour,
and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
21 And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall
know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation;
yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform it.
22 And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it:
and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be entreated
of them, and shall heal them.
23 In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria,
and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into
Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.
24 In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with
Assyria, even a blessing in the midst of the land:
25 Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt
my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine
inheritance.
QUESTIONS - Isaiah 19:19-25. Has this time arrived? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
Colossians 2:6-17
6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk
ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as
ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware
lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after
the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not
after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality
and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made
without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh
by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with
him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised
him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of
your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven
you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against
us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing
it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show
of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in
respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath
days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
QUESTIONS - Colossians 2:6-17. Do I spend more time tinkering with philosophy and vain deceit than I do with the Word of God? (V. 8) What's the ratio? How am I doing, in regard to these things? RESOLVE.
