First Lesson
Ezekiel 43:1-9
1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh
toward the east:
2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way
of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and
the earth shined with his glory.
3 And it was according to the appearance of the vision which
I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to
destroy the city: and the visions were like the vision that I
saw by the river Chebar; and I fell upon my face.
4 And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of
the gate whose prospect is toward the east.
5 So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court;
and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
6 And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the
man stood by me.
7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and
the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the
midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall
the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings,
by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their
high places.
8 In their setting of their threshold by my thresholds, and their
post by my posts, and the wall between me and them, they have
even defiled my holy name by their abominations that they have
committed: wherefore I have consumed them in mine anger.
9 Now
let them put away their whoredom, and the carcases of their kings,
far from me, and I will dwell in the midst of them for ever.
1st Lesson Questions:
Ezekiel 43:1-9. What must I do before God will dwell in the midst of me for ever? (V. 9) RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
John 7:37-53
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood
and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and
drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of
his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe
on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given;
because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying,
said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ
come out of Galilee?
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed
of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands
on him.
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees;
and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
46 The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.
47 Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.
50 Nicodemus saith unto them, (he that came to Jesus by night,
being one of them,)
51 Doth our law judge any man, before it hear him, and know what
he doeth?
52 They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee?
Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
53 And every man went unto his own house.
2nd Lesson Questions:
John 7:37-53. Why were the chief priest and Pharisees so anxious to get Jesus? Are such motivations still used today, against Christ? RESOLVE.
