First Lesson
Micah 4:1-7
1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain
of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the
mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people
shall flow unto it.
2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up
to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob;
and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths:
for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD
from Jerusalem.
3 And
he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar
off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their
spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against
nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4 But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig
tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD
of hosts hath spoken it.
5 For all people will walk every one in the name of his god,
and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and
ever.
6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth,
and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have
afflicted;
7 And
I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast
far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in
mount Zion from henceforth, even for ever.
1st Lesson Questions -
Is the world even close to the time when swords will be beaten into plowshares, etcetera? (V. 3) Why, or why not? Am I a part of the remnant and strong nation talked of in this passage? (V. 7) Am I called to be? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
Romans 8:31-39
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us,
who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us
all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is
God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather,
that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who
also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation,
or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril,
or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long;
we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through
him that loved us.
38 For
I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to
come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able
to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.
2nd Lesson Questions -
I do believe all of this, so why do I sometimes doubt whether things are going to work out in my own life? Which enemies of a strong faith - as listed in verses 38-39 - are the biggest tempters for me and my faith in Christ? RESOLVE.
