First Lesson
Isaiah 26:1-7
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We
have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and
bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth
the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust
ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting
strength:
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city,
he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth
it even to the dust.
6 The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and
the steps of the needy.
7 The
way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh
the path of the just.
1st Lesson Questions -
Do I trust in the Lord fully? (V. 4) When was the last time I didn't? Am I living life as one of the just mentioned in verse 7? What must I stop and start doing, in order to be one of them? Am I willing to do so? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
Acts
2:37-47
37
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and
said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren,
what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one
of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to
all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall
call.
40 And
with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.
41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and
the same day there were added unto them about three thousand
souls.
42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs
were done by the apostles.
44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all
men, as every man had need.
46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple,
and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with
gladness and singleness of heart,
47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the
Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
2nd Lesson Questions -
When was the last time the gospel pricked me to the heart? (V. 37) Is my generation also untoward? (V. 40) RESOLVE.
