First Lesson
Micah 7:7-9, 18-20
7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God
of my salvation: my God will hear me.
8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall
arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto
me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned
against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for
me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his
righteousness.
18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and
passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage?
he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in
mercy.
19 He
will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue
our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths
of the sea.
20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham,
which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
1st Lesson Questions -
Micah 7:7-9,18-20. How can a just God cast all our sins into the depths of the sea? (V. 19) Is that justice? Why? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
1 Timothy 6:11-19
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight
the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto
thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before
many witnesses.
13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all
things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed
a good confession;
14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable,
until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only
Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no
man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to
whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not
highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living
God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready
to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against
the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
2 Lesson Questions -
How am I doing in regard to these exhortations? What fight am I involved with - the good or bad fight? (V. 12) What IS the good fight? When was the last time I "took it on the chin" for the Faith? RESOLVE.
