INTROIT.Exsultabo. Is. 65
I WILL rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice
of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
My chosen shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble:
for they are the seed of the blessed of the Lord, and their offspring
with them (alleluia, alleluia). Ps. 44. O God, we have
heard with our ears: our fathers have told us, the works thou
hast wrought in their days. V. Glory be.
The Collect.
O GOD, who by the labours of blessed Boniface, thy Martyr and
Bishop, didst vouchsafe to call many nations to the knowledge
of thy Name: mercifully grant that we, who as on this day do
keep his feast, may by his advocacy find favour in thy sight.

The Epistle. Ecclesiasticus 44:1-15
1 Let us now praise famous men, and our fathers that begat us.
2 The Lord hath wrought great glory by them through his great
power from the beginning.
3 Such as did bear rule in their kingdoms, men renowned for their
power, giving counsel by their understanding, and declaring prophecies:
4 Leaders of the people by their counsels, and by their knowledge
of learning meet for the people, wise and eloquent are their
instructions:
5 Such as found out musical tunes, and recited verses in writing:
6 Rich men furnished with ability, living peaceably in their
habitations:
7 All these were honoured in their generations, and were the
glory of their times.
8 There be of them, that have left a name behind them, that their
praises might be reported.
9 And some there be, which have no memorial; who are perished,
as though they had never been; and are become as though they
had never been born; and their children after them.
10 But these were merciful men, whose righteousness hath not
been forgotten.
11 With their seed shall continually remain a good inheritance,
and their children are within the covenant.
12 Their seed standeth fast, and their children for their sakes.
13 Their seed shall remain for ever, and their glory shall not
be blotted out.
14 Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for
evermore.
15 The people will tell of their wisdom, and the congregation
will shew forth their praise.
GRADUAL. I
Saint Peter 4. Rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of
Christ's sufferings, that, when his glory shall be revealed,
ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. V. If ye be reproached
for the Name of Christ, happy are ye: for the spirit of glory
and of God resteth upon you.Alleluia, alleluia. V. Isaiah
66. I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory
of the Gentiles like a flowing stream. Alleluia.
In Eastertide, instead of the Gradual
is said:
Alleluia, alleluia. V. Isaiah 66.Rejoice
ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love the
Lord. Alleluia. V. When ye see this, your heart shall rejoice:
and the hand of the Lord shall be known toward his servants.
Alleluia.
The Gospel. St Matthew 5:1-12a
1 AT THAT TIME: Jesus, seeing the multitudes, he went up into
a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of
heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:
for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children
of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake:
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you,
and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my
sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in
heaven.
OFFERTORY. Ps. 16. I will thank the Lord
for giving me warning: I have set God always before me, for he
is on my right hand, therefore I shall not fall (alleluia).
SECRET. Pour out, O Lord, we pray thee, upon these our oblations
the abundance of thy heavenly benediction: that we, who now observer
the festival of thy holy Bishop and Marty Saint Boniface, may
evermore be made glad by the sanctifying operation of thy mercy.
Through.
COMMUNION. Revelation 3. To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne: even as I also overcame,
and am set down with my Father in his throne (alleluia).
POSTCOMMUNION. O LORD, who hast vouchsafed to sanctify us with these saving
mysteries: grant, we beseech thee; that as thou hast given unto
us to be governed by the advocacy of blessed Boniface thy Martyr
and Bishop, so we may never fail to receive the assistance of
his mediation. Through.
