First Lesson
Isaiah 44:6-8, 21-23
6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the
LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside
me there is no God.
7 And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it
in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the
things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them.
8 Fear
ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time,
and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God
beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant:
I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt
not be forgotten of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions,
and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed
thee.
23 Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower
parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O
forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob,
and glorified himself in Israe
1st Lesson Questons -
Do I do that which verse 8 says... have I rid myself of fear, and am I God's witness? Does my life glorify God? In what ways? How does it not do so? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
1 Peter 4:7-11
7
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober,
and watch unto prayer.
8 And
above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity
shall cover the multitude of sins.
9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the
same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of
God.
11 If
any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man
minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that
God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom
be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
2nd Lesson Questions -
Peter says to keep sober, and watch unto prayer. (V. 7) Do I? How's my charity? (V. 8) What sin did charity cover in my life this past week? How can I speak more consistently of the oracles of God and minister to others via "the ability which God giveth." (V. 11) RESOLVE.
