Lesson
Numbers 10:29-36
29 And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite,
Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying unto the place of which
the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we
will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.
30 And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to
mine own land, and to my kindred.
31 And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou
knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou mayest
be to us instead of eyes.
32 And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that
what goodness the LORD shall do unto us, the same will we do
unto thee.
33 And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey:
and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the
three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 And
the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out
of the camp.
35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses
said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and
let them that hate thee flee before thee.
36 And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many
thousands of Israel.
1st Lesson Questions -
The cloud of the LORD was with the people of Israel by day. (V. 34) Do I have God's presence with me daily, also? How so? Do I always know that He is with me? Do I always remember that fact? RESOLVE.

Lesson
Hebrews 11:32-40
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell
of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David
also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness,
obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword,
out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned
to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others
were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain
a better resurrection:
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea,
moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were
slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins;
being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts,
and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And
these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received
not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without
us should not be made perfect.
2nd Lesson Questions -
Have I received what is promised in Jesus Christ? (V. 39) What is it? When I think of the Saints in the past and what they suffered for Christ's sake, how does my life suffering stack up to theirs? Why? RESOLVE.
