First Lesson
Jeremiah 32:36-42
36 And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel,
concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into
the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine,
and by the pestilence;
37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I
have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great
wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will
cause them to dwell safely:
38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:
39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may
fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children
after them:
40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I
will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put
my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will
plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with
my whole soul.
42 For
thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil
upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that
I have promised them.
1st Lesson Questions -
In the midst of adversity, do I believe that God will bring to me "all the good" He has promised, through Jesus? (V. 42) RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
John 12:44-50
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not
on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him
not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one
that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall
judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent
me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever
I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
2nd Lesson Questions -
Do I believe these things all the time? Does my life reflect my belief? When is the last time it did not? RESOLVE.
