First Lesson
Isaiah 25:1-9
1 O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy
name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old
are faithfulness and truth.
2 For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a
ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be
built.
3 Therefore
shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible
nations shall fear thee.
4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the
needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from
the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against
the wall.
5 Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in
a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch
of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all
people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of
fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering
cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 He
will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe
away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall
he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken
it.
9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have
waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have
waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
1st Lesson Questions -
Do strong people (V. 3) glorify God now, or is that still some time in the future? Has any of verse 8 come to pass already? How so? RESOLVE.
Second Lesson
Revelation 7:9-17
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man
could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,
stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white
robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God
which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about
the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on
their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving,
and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and
ever. Amen.
13 And
one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which
are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have
washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him
day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne
shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither
shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed
them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and
God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
2nd Lesson Questions -
Revelation 7:9-17. Can I be one of those clothed in white robes? (V. 13) Do I want to be? What do I need to do in order to be counted amongst them? RESOLVE.
