First Lesson
Genesis 7:1, 7-10, 17-23
1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into
the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons'
wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls,
and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male
and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the
flood were upon the earth.
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters
increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the
earth.
18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon
the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all
the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains
were covered.
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl,
and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that
was in the dry land, died.
23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the
face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things,
and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the
earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with
him in the ark.

Second Lesson
Mark 7:24-37
24 And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre
and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know
it: but he could not be hid.
25 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit,
heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:
26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she
besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.
27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled:
for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast
it unto the dogs.
28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs
under the table eat of the children's crumbs.
29 And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil
is gone out of thy daughter.
30 And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone
out, and her daughter laid upon the bed.
31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he
came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts
of Decapolis.
32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment
in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers
into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
34 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha,
that is, Be opened.
35 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his
tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.
36 And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the
more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published
it;
37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all
things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to
speak.
2nd Lesson Questions -
What prompted Jesus to heal the woman's daughter? In what way am I deaf and dumb to God's presence in life? What stops me from coming to Christ and asking for His healing? RESOLVE.
