INTROIT. Protexisti. Ps. 64.
THOU hast hidden me, O God, from the gathering together of the
froward, alleluia: and from the insurrection of wicked doers,
alleluia, alleluia. Ps. 64. Hear my voice, O God, in my
prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy. V. Glory be.
The Collect.
O GOD, who for our sake didst suffer thy Bishop Saint Stanislas
gloriously to be slain by the swords of wicked men: grant, we
beseech thee; that all they who call upon him for succour may
be profited by the obtaining of all that they desire. Through.
The Epistle. Wisdom 5:1-5
1 THEN shall the righteous man stand in great boldness before
the face of such as have afflicted him, and made no account of
his labours.
2 When they see it, they shall be troubled with terrible fear,
and shall be amazed at the strangeness of his salvation, so far
beyond all that they looked for.
3 And they repenting and groaning for anguish of spirit shall
say within themselves, This was he, whom we had sometimes in
derision, and a proverb of reproach;
4 We fools accounted his life madness, and his end to be without
honour:
5 How is he numbered among the children of God, and his lot is
among the saints!
Or the epistle from 2 Timothy, Remember, as above in
mass 5, Laetabitur.
Alleluia, alleluia. V. Ps. 89. O Lord, the very heavens
shall praise thy wondrous works: and thy truth in the congregation
of the Saints. Alleluia. V. Ps. 21. Thou hast set a crown
of pure gold upon his head, O Lord. Alleluia.
The Gospel. St John 15:1-7
1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and
every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring
forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto
you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit
of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except
ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without
me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and
is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire,
and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask
what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
OFFERTORY. Ps. 89. O Lord, the very heavens shall
praise thy wondrous works: and thy truth in the congregation
of the Saints, alleluia, alleluia.
SECRET.
WE beseech thee, O Lord, mercifully to accept this our sacrifice,

the Lord, and put his trust in him: and all they that are true
of heart shall be glad, alleluia, alleluia.
POSTCOMMUNION.
GRANT, we beseech thee, O Lord our God: that like as we, whom
thou hast made partakers of thy heavenly food, do offer unto
thee our outward worship; so by the intercession of blessed Stanislas
thy Martyr and Bishop, we may inwardly be profited thereby to
our salvation. Through. or GRANT, O Lord, that this holy Communion may cleanse us from
every guilty stain: and at the intercession of blessed Stanislas
thy Martyr and Bishop, may be our healing unto life eternal.
